On Jess Level...
Jess Level was lured to Spain by an attractive woman named Pilar. Choosing to paint, and having suffered all the consequences from that choice, Jess becomes a poor, but famous artist in that weird and beautifully complicated land.
Jess studies with Julián Gomez and Antonio Marquez in Cáceres, 1997-1999. The light came out as did the bull fighters, and the paintings within the paintings became the standard. Manolin de Somiedo becomes a household word for more than a few.
" ...These are rich and well painted reflection's by a different sort of American, whose vision of my country is just and flattering..."
... 1991 Jess crashes classes at the Savannah College of art and design. Then crashes classes at the New York school of art in 1992. On to teaching at a private college in Arizona in 1993 and meets the lovely Pilar. After many months in Mexico and Belize Jess washes up on those sunny beaches of Madrid (sic) 10 October 1994. A new life.
A new language.
The freak show begins.
